Yar Rassadin, Russian designer, has captured the honey comb making process with this beehive lamp.

I like how this lamp is not all filled in but has holes in it which makes it more interesting to look at . That is what i tried to experiment with when sampling.

Applique

This picture of honeycombs is showing the different sections within a honeycomb this is what I was trying to portray in my applique sample.

I did this applique sample by layering up five different fabrics on top of one another I pinned the four corners  down to hold the fabric still and then I stitched a honeycomb pattern onto the fabrics using a satin stich. I cut through different layers of fabric to show all the layers
