Brand awareness

what makes a brand?
How do we identify with a brand?
How does a logo communicate to us?

I Lesson we have been analysing brands we looked at several brands and their logos in detail.

New brief - Brand New

I have been given a new brief Brand New.
Throughout this project I will learn about the commercial design process and brand identity within the world of fashion.
I will be focusing on a variety of aspects incuding; research methods, trend forcasting and application, colour palettes, design development techniques and prensentation methods.
I will gain an insight into the buisness of commercial fashion and will have the oportunity to position myself, as a designer, within this market. I will have to consider my own beliefs and ideas about fashion and align my brand with my design values and my ethical stance; exploring the range of methods that exsisting brands use to communicate these to the consumer.
My task is to come up with my own clothing brand and launch either a A/W 12/13 or S/S 2013 womenswear capsule collection in a large department store such as Sefridges, House of Fraser or Jhon Lewis. I will also be making a dress from my final line up for this brief.
